why weddings are important.
My experience of weddings cancelling and rescheduling during covid has been that whilst couples always acknowledge that worse things are happening than choosing not to get married just yet nevertheless there is something fundamentally symbolic about a wedding that the world receognises.
This charming piece describes that symbolism from a Jungian perspective (well, I am a therapist after all!).
It speaks of the entrance of the bride - whether that is a feminine or masculine ‘bride’ and the two opposite people uniting as being symbolic of our ‘soul’ or ability to connect uniting with ‘God’ or something transformative.
Enjoy it and relish your roles as archetypes and what your ceremony represents to your community and the world within your ceremony.
